So now, author Alex Suraci focused on bugfixing and even made tons of enhancements, as well as some small changes to the existing Module, Feathers, and Theme engines. A Tumblr importer is in the works as well.

We all know infamous MySQL administration tool, Currently it can create and drop databases, create/drop/alter tables, delete/edit/add fields, execute any SQL statement, manage keys on fields and much more.

2.11.3 line was finished by 10 December of 2007, so new line of 2.11.4 is started today. However this RC1 is bugfix-only release.

Speaking about new release, developers said that this is probably last release from the 0.7 branch. Although users been complaining about e107 releases being nothing but bugfixes or security releases, this is as well bugfix release BUT! this release makes e107 completly or 99% bug free and it is really solid release.

When new 0.8 version will be available? Nobody knows, not even developers:

So, when will 0.8 be out? Good question and we have no answer. There’s a lot of new code there, but not really any new features there yet either. However, with not having to worry about the 0.7 branch anymore, we can now devote our full efforts on 0.8.

as you can see there is no “new features” promise in that statement as well… unfortunately…

WordPress-ians are calling for immediate attention, today they fixed bugs that could:

• Show bad guys your draft posts
• give away information about your database table structure and limits (to the same bad guys)
• give away some information in the XML-RPC and APP implementations

I do not know who can ever use those bugs to do some bad things with our blogs, but well - it’s better to update your blog up to 2.3.2.

There is some bonus as well, now we can set a custom DB error page, for that we should place our custom template at wp-content/db-error.php and if WordPress has a problem connecting to blog’s database, this page will displayed rather than the default error message - neat ha?
